LESLIE'S CREATIVE JOURNEY

LJMILLER: Creating is as important as breathing for me. Much of my influence comes from my creative Mother and her encouragement to create. I grew up on the coast of Maine, so much of my time was on the water….sailing, fishing, swimming, water skiing. My parents were all about “go outside and play”. I started watercolors at 8, my mother putting me into a class where there were “beatniks” reading poetry, playing music, and lots of creative art. I played piano, the french horn, violin (of which all were near torture for me). Was thrown in ballet, which i did like, and then ballroom dancing classes and “manners”…both mortifying….my creativity comes in waves, like the tide….at times a frenzy, then like calm winds, the seas are like glass when one has to sit back and reflect on what was created or what is the next adventure.
